NONT- Night Observational and Navigation Trial

NONT is an SA Branch Rover activity open to Rovers, Venturers and Leaders.

NONT 2010 is a medieval themed activity in which teams complete a driven navigation course at night. Throughout the course teams must complete a series of navigation puzzles to plot their course, identify observation markers and participate in theme based activities located at activity checkpoints. A team’s navigational skills, teamwork and initiative are tested and developed throughout this fun and entertaining event.

A minimum of two qualified drivers is recommended for every car intending on completing the whole course. Venturer teams require a fully licensed driver over 18 who has completed a police check. Before leaving all cars are scrutinized for safety gear as well as bonus theme items and costumes.

For Venturer teams the course finishes at the halfway point where there will be food, entertainment and room to sleep. Breakfast will also be provided for those who choose to stay.

For Rover teams the course is broken up by a compulsory halfway point where you will be well fed and rested before continuing. The event finishes in the early hours of the morning depending on when you start the course and how well you have navigated. Room to sleep is provided at the finish point and it is recommended that Rovers make use of this facility. Breakfast will also be provided for those who choose to stay.
